He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin DeGroot and Evelyn DeGroot (Edelbeck); his brothers-in-law, Jed McKee and Jim Loehrke; and his nephew Michael McKee.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Allen; his daughters, Jeanne DeGroot (Arthur Ciesielczyk), Jennifer McKeever (Jesse) and Tricia Baker (Alex); his granddaughter Emily; his great grandchild Hailey; and his sisters, Arlene Loehrke and Jane Kosolcharoen (Peter). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
