He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. L. and Dymphna Kitslaar (McLaughlin); and his siblings, Bill Kitslaar (Pat), Mary Zellner (Robert), Jack Kitslaar (Peg), Francis Kitslaar (Ann) and Therese Stevens (George).

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Tom (Heidi Kitslaar), Paul (Lynn Kitslaar), Julie (Scott Eslien) and Mary (Scott Ziemer); and his grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph (Stephanie), Benjamin (Jordan), Elizabeth, Katherine, Will, Emily, Nicholas, Andrew and Nicole. He is also survived by his sister.
