He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Thompson of Paul's Lutheran Church; his son Kermit Jr.; his parents, Carl Thompson and Hazel Thompson; and his siblings, Carl Jr., Donna Warner, Ilene Rothe and Mary Luhman.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Nelson (Dennis); his grandchildren, Michelle Nelson-Reindahl (Woodrow), Stacia Hoefferle (John) and Ryan Nelson (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Wyatt Brihn, Seth Brihn, Sean Hoefferle, Abigail Hoefferle and Gavin Nelson; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Kylie Monson, Ayla Monson and Caden Monson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church (811 S Ave W, Clear Lake, WI 54005). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
