With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John E. Spurgeon of Deerbrook, Wisconsin, born in Antigo, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 13, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Bernie Spurgeon and Genevieve Spurgeon (Snow); his wife Mary Luepke; his nephew Jim Spurgeon; his parents-in-law, Arnold and Grace Luepke; and his brother-in-law William Scott.

He is survived by : his children, Laurie Muench (Doug) of Rio, Oriana Layman (Chas) of Wausau and Tyler Spurgeon (Janessa Keen) of Mount Airy; his brother Gerald Spurgeon (Beverly) of Antigo; and his sister-in-law Ann Scott of Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John Spurgeon's name may be directed to Langlade County Humane Society or Kathy's House in Milwaukee.
