He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Schmidt and Ruby Ann Schmidt (Reddeman); his sister Nancy Bartlett; his in-laws, Herbert and Doris Wolff; his siblings-in-law, Steve Hurd, Marylin Wolff and Jerry Lange; and his nephew Chase Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wolff; his sons, Tim and Andy (Marissa); his grandchildren, Maeva, Audrey, Grady, Ada, Rylee and Gatlin; his siblings, Roger Schmidt (Nancy), Sue Hurd, Jane Allen (Phil) and Jim Schmidt (Brenda); and his siblings-in-law, Richard Bartlett, Beverly Lange and Janice Peterson (Galen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
