Patricia R. Higgs Obituary
Patricia R. Higgs, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. Born on August 7, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Patricia lived a life centered on family, hard work, faith, and adventure.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Denis C. Higgs; her parents, Gustave and Fanny Thimm; her sister, Nancy; and her granddaughter, Jamie Rose Faretta.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Rector and Karen Faretta; her son, Kevin Higgs (Kristie); her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her brother, Patrick; her sister, Judy; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Patricia began her career in the Credit Department at Sears Roebuck before spending 30 years as a Senior Buyer for Briggs & Stratton. Following retirement, she worked part-time at Target until 2020.
She enjoyed traveling the world, taking cruises, reading, and embracing new experiences, including parasailing and parachuting on separate occasions. Her warmth, generosity, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home, W250 N6505 HWY 164, Sussex. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Chrysostom Episcopal Church, Delafield, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) of Waukesha County are appreciated.
