He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hummel and Florence Hummel (Shanahan); and his siblings, Robert, Dorothy Tollkuhn, Gladys Tucker and Marion Gates.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Paddock; his children, Dianne Bruggenthies (Brad) of Monroe, WI and Jon Hummel (Annette King-Hummel) of Delavan; his grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Maxwell and Gus; and his great grandchild Malachi.
