He was predeceased by: his mother Frieda Fischer (Schuetz); his wife Marilyn; his daughter Sally Jean Fischer; and his siblings, James Fischer, Priscilla Westphal, Ronald Fischer, Delores Ailts and Larry Fischer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Macal (Rich) of Annapolis, MD and Shari Lunde (Jim) of Rhinelander, WI; his grandchildren, Jenni Wallace (Mike), Briana "Bri" Lunde and Erik Lunde (Lacie); and his great grandchildren, Evelyn Marie Wallace, Hallie Kathleen Lunde, Lenora Kay Lunde and Soren James Lunde. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Gene's name to St. John's Lutheran Church.
