He was predeceased by: his parents, John Waelti and Anna Waelti (Disch); his wife Carolyn "Kay" Carpenter; and his brothers, Merrill, Melvin and Virgil.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Fountaine (Brian) of Dousman, WI, Heidi Terpstra (Scott) of Delavan, WI, Heather Waelti of Janesville and Mark Waelti (Yukari) of Burbank, CA; and his grandchildren, Aaron, Kayla Fountaine, Emma, Colin Terpstra and Jjulianna Heflick. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Friends of the Phoenix Park Bandshell or the Delavan United Church of Christ for the Jerry & Kay Waelti Scholarship Fund.
