He was predeceased by: his father John Smiley; his grandparents, John and Ruth Smiley; his aunts, Barb and Betty Smiley; and his pets, Gato and Mijo.
He is survived by: his mother Eileen Messerschmidt; his children, Connie Smiley, Rachel Holland (Bill) and Nicki Smiley; his siblings, Leroy Smiley (Kathy), Mike Smiley (Kelly), Laurie Zwiebel, Joanna Salas (Adam), Robin Moorhead and Edward Smiley (Christina); his grandchildren, Dani Fryer, Danovin Johnston, Alydia Krings and Addyson Krings; his stepmother Pat Smiley; his daughters, Teresa Eckardt and Donna Miller; and his friends, Tammy Grewey and Joe McDonald.
