He was predeceased by : his parents, George Thomas and Ruth Thomas; his wife Dolly; his brothers, Robert, William, Larry and Michael; and his brother-in-law Robert Niles.

He is survived by : his sons, James Lilly (Dana Mills) of Delavan and Josh Lilly of Janesville; his grandsons, Malakye and Austin Lilly; his siblings, Sandra Niles, Donald Thomas (Julie) and John Thomas (Jackie); and his sisters-in-law, Judy Thomas (Robert), Yoneko Thomas (William) and Ruth Thomas (Michael). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
