She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Piper and Elizabeth Piper (Lindner); her husband Lyle Smith; and her brothers, Harold and Theodore.

She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Rickman (Brian) of Janesville, Timothy Smith (Debbie) of St. Paul, MN, Matthew Smith (Tracy) of Darien and Andrew Smith of Delavan; her grandchildren, Theodore, Elijah, Brina Rickman of Janesville, Jennifer, Jonathon, Benjamin of St. Paul, MN, Nicholas, Nichole, Nathan and Noah Smith of Darien; and her sisters, Barbara Erickson, JoAnn Nomeland and Katherine Satrom. She is also survived by many great grandchildren.
