The family announces the passing of Merle E. Kulhanek (Denmark, Wisconsin) on October 12, 2026. Merle, born on September 19, 1943, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kulhanek and Clara Kulhanek (Dahlke); his brother-in-law Leonard Bertrand; and his nephew Gary Bertrand. He is survived by: his wife Pat Terrien; his daughter Kathy Guns (Joe); his sisters, Ruth Bertrand and Cindy Shimon (Donald); his grandson Nick Guns; his nephews, Jim, Jerry, Mike, Mark Bertrand, Jesse and Matt Shimon (Kristy); and his niece Amanda Doell (Tim). He is also survived by 3 great-nieces, eight great-nephews, as well as many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (3186 Eaton Rd, Green Bay, WI 54311). A burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 12:15 PM at the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery (5794 Kewaunee Rd, Denmark, WI 54208).
