He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Vandenberg and Gerry Vandenberg (Bauman); and his brother Jon. He is survived by: his children, Shelie and Michael (Jessica); his grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Chase and Ella; and his siblings, Debbie Brofka (John), Jim Vandenberg (Patty) and Mark Vandenberg (Ruth). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
