He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Peterson and Isabelle Peterson (Fritsch); his grandson Jason Burke; his siblings, Florence Ryan (Ed), Irene Mousel (Don), Geraldine Evjen (Edsel), Eleanor Evjen (Ellis), Loraine Newhorter (Dennis), Duane Peterson, Richard Peterson and Bernard Peterson (Mary Joy); his parents-in-law, Sam and Martha Roder; and his siblings-in-law, Irvin Roder (Anita) and Geraldine "Shorty" Seichter (Robert Boyea).
He is survived by: his wife Verlene Peterson; his children, Julie Burke (Joe), Douglas Peterson (Sandy), Janene Marklein (Dan), Mark Peterson (Sara) and Rhonda Marten (Steve); and his grandchildren, Jared Burke (Desiree), Jennifer Franks, Jeremy Burke (Megan), Joshua Bindl (Misty), Sara Johnson (Thad), Nicolas Peterson (Courtney), Benjamin Peterson, Melanie Marklein, Jessie Dunn (Tracey), Kari Lawver (Dan), Kory Peterson (Katie), Kelsey Havlik (Evan), Kelli Standorf (Jared), Eiroll Polinag, Clair Polinag (Daniel Ramos), SaraMae Polinag, Duncan Marten and Grace Buckingham (Sydney). He is also survived by 34 great grandchildren plus one due in May and many nieces, nephews.
