Hugo B. Mikes Obituary
Hugo Byron Mikes, age 79, of East Troy Wisconsin passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with bone and lung cancer.
Born on July 2, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Hugo was the son of Hugo and Bertha Mikes. He will be fondly remembered for his deep love of classic Ford cars, the timeless tunes of the 1950's and 60s, golfing, boating, trains especially steam locomotives- and cheering on his favorite teams: the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. Above all Hugo cherished time with his family.
He is survived by his sister Carol; his daughters, Carrie, Lindsay, and Kelly McGowan (James); grandchildren Kayla and Kasey; great grandchildren Ella, Grayson, Hudson, and Nora; and Daughter- In- Law Kimberly Mikes, along with her children Tarra and Ryan Mikes.
Hugo was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Branfort, his sons: Hugo and Kevin Mikes, and his parents Hugo and Bertha Mikes.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Angels Grace Hospice of Oconomowoc.
A burial will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in East Troy, Wisconsin where Hugo will be laid to rest beside Linda. In accordance with his wishes , there will be no formal funeral. Instead, a Celebration of Life, will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the lions Lodge in East Troy. All friends, family, and those who knew Hugo are warmly invited to attend and share in honoring his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hugo's name may be made to Angels Grace hospice in Oconomowoc Wisconsin.
