He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert McFarlane and Mabel McFarlane; his former wife Grace Palenshus; his wife Judith Steele; his children, Gary McFarlane (Mary), Mary Schwartz (Fred), Jill Carrick (Pat), Julie Lemke (Ted), Jean McFarlane and Robert McFarlane (Rachel); his grandchildren, Jesse McFarlane (Jamie), Meg Schauer (Joe), Connor Carrick, Danielle, Dana Lemke and Taylor McFarlane; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Linnea McFarlane, Stoxen and Fletcher Schauer; and his siblings, Alice Schroeder and Roy McFarlane.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations which will be given to the Pro Health Cardiovascular Department and the Walworth County Humane Society.
