Wayne W. Kunz Obituary

Of East Troy, Wayne W. Kunz passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 87. He was a devoted husband for 61 years to his beloved Barbara, who preceded him in death. Wayne was the loving father of Cheryl (Gary) Gabert; the proud grandfather of Krystal (Nick) and Nick (Amber); and the adoring great-grandfather of Alia and Lance. He is also survived by his sister Lois (Steve) Johnson, his brother Gary Kunz, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later enjoyed a long career with G.E. Health Care. After retirement, he drove school bus for East Troy, a role he treasured. He spent many joyful winters in Arizona and found great camaraderie in his card clubs in both East Troy and Mukwonago and had friends all over the country. Always on the lookout for a good bargain, Wayne loved hunting for treasures at auctions and estate sales.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St., Mukwonago) from 5:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. A private family burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in East Troy. Memorial donations in Wayne's honor may be made to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
