He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel McCune and Loretta McCune (Watenphul) of Osseo; his former wife Bonnie J. Malsam; his wife Kathleen Stewart; his son Nathan McCune; his grandson Noah McCune; and his brothers, Gene McCune (Clara) and Neil McCune (Marion).

He is survived by: his sons, Daniel McCune (Pamela), Timothy McCune (Tammie), Benjamin McCune (Tricia) and Aaron McCune (April); his stepsons, Ken Stewart (Lauri) and Mike Stewart (Jen); his grandchildren, Samantha McCune, Erika McCune, Hannah McCune, Mollie Dunio (Bryce), Rebecca Strawn (Seth), Madisen McCune, Gabe McCune, Simeon McCune and Lily McCune; his stepgrandchildren, Kyle Stewart (Megan) and Natalie Stewart; his great grandchild Christine; and his sister-in-law Marion McCune. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
