He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvia Hillestad (Fagerland) and Aubrey Hillestad. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hillestad; his children, Mike (Diana Hillestad) and Dana Hillestad; his stepson Tobin (Meaghan Hudgins); his grandchildren, Brooke, Cleo Hillestad, Colin Bruley and Frances Hudgins; his sister Judy Schrantz of Waukesha; and his pet Rudy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Doug's name to the Shriners Children's Hospital, Wisconsin. Special Olympics, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
