He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry DeGroot and Olga DeGroot; his significant other Betty; and his wife JoAnne Newmier (Sladek). He is survived by: his brother Edward DeGroot of Henderson, NV; his children, James DeGroot (Debbie) of Plymouth, WI, Felix "Ray" DeGroot (Debbie), Valerie Bowman of La Crosse, WI and Virginia Tomsen (Tim) of Eleva, WI; and his grandchildren, Jeff, Denise, Daniel, Carl, Cathie, Jennie, Scott, David, Sarah, Lisa, Susanna, Joseph, Michael, Leah and Noelle. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
