He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hoffmeister (Al) and Dorothy Hoffmeister; his son Nathan; and his pets, Chauncey and Hazel.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Thoms; his sons, Aaron (Mandy), Ben and Seth; his pet Betty; his brothers, Jim (Nancy) and David; and his nephew Alex.
