He was predeceased by : his son Jesse LaPointe; his parents, Betty Dutter and David LaPointe Sr.; his stepfather Chuck Dutter; and his sister Brenda Sanders.

He is survived by : his children, April Jnofinn, Nicole LaPointe (Bryon), Patrick Eaton (Jade), Justin LaPointe (Azia) and Gabriella (Anthony) of Nevada; his grandchildren, Brayden, Arya Jnofinn, Lyla, Jaxtin LaPointe and Landyn McDonald; his brothers, Rick LaPointe (Brenda) and David LaPointe; and his nephew David LaPointe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel (535 S Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona, WI 54720). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
