John Onsager Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Onsager in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 15, 2020 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Onsager and Maurita Onsager (Baier); his parents-in-law, Donald and Ina Larson; and his brother-in-law Michael Larson.

He is survived by: his wife Tamara Onsager of Eau Claire; his children, Jennifer Onsager Peterson of Eau Claire and Jason Onsager (Marcy) of Eau Claire; his granddaughters, Taylor and Makenna Peterson of Eau Claire; and his sisters, Sue Meinen (Steve) of Chippewa Falls, Lorraine Springer (Robert) of Chippewa Falls and Mary Sarauer (Al) of Bloomer. He is also survived by his godchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his family has decided not to hold a public funeral service at this time.
