With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maynard M. Faanes of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, born in Barron, Wisconsin, who passed away on August 26, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar J. Sr. Faanes and Helen Faanes (Hanson); his siblings, Thorvald "Teeny" (Edna), Oscar "Tubby", Bernard "Bernie" and Clara Thompson (Duwaine); his nephew John Faanes; and his niece Karen Thompson.
He is survived by: his son Maynard; his wife Joann Brown; his sons, Mark (Donna), Jeff (Leigh Ann), Greg (Jackie) and Ken (Lori); his grandsons, Nathan and Jason (Hannah); his great grandchild Bennett; his grandson Adam (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Arabella, Giovanni, Greyson and Maddalena; his grandson Kendall (Taylor); his great grandchild Kaden; his daughter Sarah; his grandson Jacob (Brittany); his great grandchild Brooks; his daughter Megan Hanzlik (Joshua); his granddaughter Amelia Jo; his son Kevin; his grandchildren, Morgan (Jake Dahl) and Justin (Erica Hansen); his sister Sandy Donovan (Bob); and his sister-in-law Betty Faanes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given in memory of Maynard to Hope Lutheran Church or to the charity/organization of their choice.
