It is with sadness that the passing of Ralph C. Gilbertson (Eau Claire, Wisconsin) is shared. Ralph, born on May 16, 1937, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph C. Gilbertson and Anna Mae Gilbertson (Revier); his wife Katie (Katie); his siblings, James Gilbertson, Jerome Gilbertson, Robert Gilbertson and Joan; and his siblings-in-law, Roman Shultz, LeRoy Swenson, Michael Beaumont and Carol Beaumont.
He is survived by: his children, Anne Foegen (Juan), Mark Gilbertson (Yvonne), David Gilbertson (Sheryl) and Sue Boxrud (Drew); his grandchildren, Emily Westphal (Jordan), Henry Gilbertson (Michaela Woodward), Andrew Foegen (Olivia Snyder), Lillie Boxrud, Lola Boxrud, Larry Schnack, Jeremiah Hill, Hailey Gibbons, Hannah Hunt (Sam) and Hope Gibbons; his great grandchildren, Violet and Thomas Foegen; and his siblings-in-law, Tim, Elizabeth Frawley, Patricia Swenson and Karen Beaumont. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (1712 Highland Ave, Eau Claire, WI 54701). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Ursday Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (1712 Highland Ave, Eau Claire, WI 54701). A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (4100 S Hastings Way, Eau Claire, WI 54701). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Happy Hollow Tavern (1628 N Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona, WI 54720).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Ralph's name to Breakthrough T1D (http://www.breakthrought1d.org.) to support a cure for Ralph's son Mark, daughter Sue, granddaughters Emily and Lillie, and all others who live with diabetes or to the Eau Claire Male Chorus (http://www.eauclairemalechorus.net.).
