He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl Clayton Beckman and Margaret Beckman. He is survived by : his wife Luanne Beckman of Eau Claire, WI; his daughters, Sue Booth of Ann Arbor, MI and Linda Beckman of Bellingham, WA; his grandson Corey Booth of Ann Arbor, MI; and also Bruiser. He is also survived by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (202 W Grand Ave, Eau Claire, WI 54703). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In addition to the many involvements he had at the University, Dick served on the Board of Directors of Luther Park Bible Camp, served on the Board of Directors for Grace Lutheran Foundation; and volunteered for National Lutheran Youth Conventions.
