He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Kurt Friesth. He is survived by: his parents, Carl Manz and Diane Manz (Johnson); his pet Madi; his siblings, Barb Friesth and Jim Manz (Sharon); and his nieces and nephews, Wesley, Trevor Manz, Sarah Manz, Emma and Kristen Friesth. He is also survived by his nieces' and nephews.

“I regret not being able to contribute my condolences and kind words about Bob at the memorial, although I thought it necessary as of now nevertheless. Bob was kind enough to purchase Lexus vehicles from me at Lexus of Brookfield and then Lexus North Shore. What I remember most of Bob was his wonderful smile, his positive attitude, and his humble character as a person, and surgeon. Bob will be dearly missed by myself and countless others....a man of honor to be sure.”
