We announce the death of Judith A. Thurs of Edgar, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 79. Judith will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Gottschalk and Mary Gottschalk; her grandson Leo Thurs; and her siblings-in-law, Jan Thurs, Jean Rasmussen, Louella Straub, Mamie Warosh, Tony Thurs, Raymond Joswiak and Gerald Straub.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Thurs of Edgar; her children, Susan Reiche (Gary) of Weston, Tim Thurs (Candy) of Rib Mountain, Jeff Thurs (Anne Allmann) of Wauwatosa, Dean Thurs (Katrina) of Rib Mountain and Ryan Thurs (Tara) of Roseville, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Andy Reiche (Kendra), Derek Reiche (Emma Jacobsen), Eliza Thurs, Miles Thurs, Carson Thurs and Ruby Thurs; her great grandchildren, Lennon and Anora Reiche; and her brothers, Paul Gottschalk (Virginia) of Wausau, Brian Gottschalk (Linda) of Wausau and Dave Gottschalk of Edgar. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (327 N 3rd Ave, Edgar, WI 54426). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
