He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Virant and LaVerne Virant (Trautschold); and his brother-in-law Steve Gerk. He is survived by: his wife Malia Virant; his children, Christin Dehne (Abe Meinnert), Amy Marinec (Christopher), Erica Campbell (Christian), Jason Weiss (Jennifer), Ben Darkow (Abby), Andrea Whitcomb (Brady), Nathan Darkow (Allison) and Lexi Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jakob, Alyssa, Hunter, Corban, Quinn, Alexandrea, Caitlyn, Christian, Annabelle, Elise, Charlotte, Aeris, Fisher, Sebastian, Lachlan, Calliope, Natalie, Logan, Henry and Maeve; his siblings, Victoria Gephart (Gary), Monica Virant, Patty Weiss (Milo) and Joe Virant (Barb); and his in-laws, Robellie Gerk, Vivian Gerk (Gareth), Starr Gerk (Greg), Liz Klessig (Karl), Zach Gerk (Sue) and Morgan Gerk (Jen). He is also survived by many other uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
