He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter A. Papenfus and Alma Papenfus (Wuttke); his wife Dorothy Mae; his granddaughter Margaret Anne Papenfus; his siblings, Earl (Pinky), Walter (Fritz), Hilda Twist and Margaret Green; his brothers-in-law, Delos Twist and Lionel Green; and his nephews, David Twist and Jim Twist.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark A. Papenfus (Laina) and Kevin L. Papenfus (Nicole) of Elkhorn; his grandchildren, Emma Tomter (Alex), Sarah Staven (Michael) and Alex Timothy Papenfus; his great grandchild Finn Staven; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Jean Schinke (Antee) and Margie Papenfus. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 7 nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
