He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Chapman and Isabelle Chapman (Kuntz); his wife Patricia Pryor; and his siblings, Jean Brisk, Jane Plechaty, Nova Mathews and George Chapman.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Chapman (Dan), Julie Doughty (Douglas), John Chapman (Jenni), Jim Chapman (Lisa) and Mike Chapman (Andrea); his grandchildren, Kali (John), Ryan (Samantha), Megan (Derek), Alexis (Evan), Kate and Jake (Lauren); and his great grandchildren, Hadley, Johnny and Isaac (Jane Adams).
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (107 W Walworth St, Elkhorn, WI 53121). A Mass will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial in John's name may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or plant a tree in his honor.
