She is survived by: her husband John Schmitt; her daughters, Malinda Aney (Richard Jr.) and Melissa Schmitt (Jamie Heminover); her stepchildren, Katie Jernigan, Heather Brown (Jernigan), Jared Jernigan, Brian Jernigan (Jamie) and Hannah Jernigan; her grandchildren, Emily, Noah Aney, Lila Heminover, Nicholas Stabla (Nikki), Gerald, Dontae, Quinn, Danyelle, Julien, Braden, Jayden Lyman and Ashlynn Duncan; and her sister Sandy Akright. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
