He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Edward Carter and Jacqueline Gooden; his children, Jurell, Kelila, Jeremy'Jim', Edward Carter, Dorothy Fortney and Ahdronemus Gooden (Melinda); his cousins, Melik and Mirio Gooden; his brother Dante Alexander; and his grandparents, Mattie and Jessie Gooden.
