Henry Marion Alba MD Obituary
Dr. Henry Marion Alba, 77, of Elm Grove, Wisconsin passed away on Friday June 12th at St. Camillus Hospice and Nursing Home, after a long-fought battle against cancer. Henry was born on July 29, 1949 in NY, NY to Augusta Strongman Alba and Louis P Alba.
He attended St Malachis Elementary school in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Tech Boys HS in Brooklyn, class of 1967. Hunter College of the City College of NY graduating with a BS class of 1972. After graduating College, he attended The University of Bologna School of Medicine and Surgery in Bologna Italy, graduating in 1978. He attended the NYU Grossman school of Medicine, at the Rusk Institute for Rehabilitation, Residency program gaining an advanced degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, in 1982. Dr Alba worked as a Physician and Clinician for over 45 years.
He was known for over 4 decades of Physical Medicine and rehabilitation, in the Milwaukee area specializing in Medical education, Electro diagnostics and Assistant Prof. at the Medical College of Wisconsin Dept. of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation centered at St Lukes Hospital, caring for inpatients and outpatients alike as well as teaching resident physicians. Over the last 20 or so years, Dr Alba was a member of the Pain Management practice of Wisconsin staff, specializing in electrodiagnosis and chronic pain Management. Dr Alba was a member of the governing committee of St Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in West Allis until the time of his passing. and served on the Supreme counsel of that Denomination for a number of years. Henry sang in the St Marys PNCC choir, played Acoustic and electric guitar through out his life. He served as Coach of the Elmbrook Little league team from 1995 thru 2002. He loved traveling around the country visiting his extensive family. Loved Disney World and Disney characters in general.
He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, generosity, Wry Sense of humor, and devotion to family/friends. Henry Marion Alba - Was a "chip-off the old block" as his parents' gifts to the world :). He had an intrinsic and limitless love for knowledge, creation of music, and a sharing of himself with his family, friends, and the world around him. His words were always carefully selected and crafted like a fencing foil so they always hit target 🎯.
Knowing and loving Henry was, and will forever be one of the greatest gifts in my lifetime. May he continue to be our perpetual reminder to always be Kind, Understanding, Unselfish, and to "BE A GIFT" —as he is and "Do Something Good for this World!".
️Henry was an avid Handyman, started projects but only completed most to 85%(upholding a deep rooted Alba Family tradition. He will be missed by his couch Companion, his Doberman Zak. He enjoyed learning programming Macintosh computers in the 1980s to learn how they functioned).
Dr Henry, is survived by spouse, Janice M Alba; son, Joe H Alba spouse Dr, Holly Reeves Alba; grandchildren, Zoey M. Alba & Julia R. Q Alba; Siblings, Joan Lemons, Robert Alba, sp Gael Chiarella Alba, Elaine Merenda Alba SO Michael Metelski, Norma McGuigan sp George Mcguigan, Louis Alba sp Maureen Alba, John L Alba, sp Rebecca Alba, Paul Alba sp Greta Alba. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father Louis P Alba & Mother Augusta Strongman Alba.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19th 2026 at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home (10121 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226) beginning at 5pm until time of service at 6:30pm. Dr Alba will be interred later this summer in Lloyd Union Cemetery in Highland NY.
Dr Henry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved them. Their memory will live on in the hearts of family and friends. The family appreciates the love and support during this difficult time.
