He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicasio Rivera Pérez and María Flores Rodríguez; his brother José Manuel; his son David Rivera Pérez Jr.; and his siblings, Moises, Julio Cesar, Saul, Olga and Roberto Rivera Flores.
He is survived by: his wife Abida Lozada Santiago; his son Elvin Rivera Pérez; his stepsons, Julio Reyes Lozada (Lillian Reyes) and Abner Reyes Lozada (Allison Reyes); his siblings, Nicasio Rivera Flores Jr., Samuel Rivera Flores, Gidel Rivera Flores and Ruth Rivera Flores; and his grandchildren, Gionuel David Rivera, Zoilerys M Rivera, Julián A. Reyes, Lady Lyann Rivera-Reyes, Alexander A. Reyes and Ari A. Reyes.
