It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nell Elizabeth Weisensel of Evansville, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Sponem and Pearl Sponem; her siblings, Mary Roever (Donald), Edith Kerr (Kevin) and Theodore Sponem (Beth); her nephews, David and Daniel Kerr; her brother-in-law Jack Mayhew; her parents-in-law, James and Leona Weisensel; and her in-laws, Debbie Weisensel and Steve Weisensel.
She is survived by: her husband Bill of John's Lutheran Church; her children, Jessica Benewich (Joel), Erika Peterson (Josh), Carissa Olszewski (Nick) and Matthew Weisensel (Amanda); her grandchildren, Emma, Aiden, Owen Benewich, Leona, Clay Peterson, Cooper Olszewski, Beverly and Gwyneth Schneider; her siblings, Louise Mayhew, Russell Sponem (Denise), Philip Sponem and Glen Sponem; and her siblings-in-law, Mike Weisensel, Patti Glass (Mike), Diane Becker (Paul), Greg Weisensel (Beth), Bruce Weisensel and Joe Weisensel (Judy). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sursum Corda School or Faith Lutheran Church of Oregon, Wis.
