He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Bennett and Joanne Bennett (Jacobs); his brother Gregory Bennett; and his mother-in-law Nancy Behm. He is survived by: his wife Ellyn Bennett; his son Samuel Bennett; his sister Victoria Veum (David); his stepchildren, Brianna Gunderson (Eric) and James Greenlan; his stepgrandsons, Oliver and Kase Gunderson; his sister-in-law Amy Hanson (Mike); and his father-in-law Gerald Behm. He is also survived by nieces, nephews also many family members and friends.
