He was predeceased by: his parents, O. J. Peterson and Sadie Peterson (Armfield); his wife Shirley Wepking; his grandson Cody Peterson; his siblings, Alice Meyer (Bill), Robert Peterson (Marge), Raymond Peterson (Clara), Earl Peterson (Joyce) and Oscar Peterson; and his siblings-in-law, Don Burkeland, Jerry Doan, Russ Bouffiou and LaVonne Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Peterson (Judy) of Fennimore, Ron Peterson (Cindy) of Oregon and Diane Wells (John) of McFarland; his grandchildren, Scott Peterson (Brittnee), Brady Peterson (Emily), Anna, Dylon Peterson, Stephanie Wells (John Shriver) and Austin Wells (Bethany); his siblings, Betty Burkeland of Fennimore, Roy Peterson of Sparta and Dagna Doan of Fennimore; and his sisters-in-law, Connie Peterson of Woodman and Dorothy Bouffiou of Fennimore. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
