He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Helm and Ruby Mae Helm (Glasscock); his brother Kenneth Helm; and his granddaughter Elizabeth "Ellie" Mary Helm. He is survived by: his wife Cozy; his children, Donald Helm II (Polly) of Fish Creek and Susan Helm-Murtagh (Rory) of Boulder, Colorado; his granddaughter Hannah Holdridge (Dan) of Madison, Wisconsin; his great grandchild Elsie May Holdridge; and his sister Mary Jo Helm of Fish Creek, Wisconsin..
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion (7845 Church St, Egg Harbor, WI 54209). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
The family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Ellie Helm Foundation, a cause that carries forward the memory of Donald's granddaughter and is especially meaningful to the Helm family.
