He was predeceased by: his father William "Bill" Vanness; his friend Elaine Vanness; and his close friend Susie Phillips. He is survived by: his son Quay Vanness (Trudy); his grandchildren, Brok Davis, Jade, Selah, Faith and Isaiah Vanness; his daughters, Becky and Brenda; his sister Lillian Buth (John); and his stepchildren, Brad Gosse, Kathie Holloman, Jeff Gosse, Kim Sohn (Richard), Julie Schraven (Bruce), Tracey Scheuers and Travis Gosse. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
