He was predeceased by: his parents, George Abel and Mary Abel (Bonzelet); his uncles, Al (Lorrine Walgenbach), Harold (Josephine Soles), William (Birdie Galow), John Bonzelet, Joseph (Leona Bonzelet), Virgil (Frances Kohlbeck), Daniel (Rosella Mayer) and Leo (Esther Bonzelet); and his aunt Lillian Abel.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Abel and Shane Abel; his grandchildren, John Bevan III, Acacia Bevan and Caitlin Abel; and his siblings, Allen Abel (Tracy), Anne Abel and Maureen Andrejeski (Patrick). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
