She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald V. McAuly and Mildred M. McAuly (Weidner); and her husband Elmer H. Smet. She is survived by: her son Daniel J. Firks of Naperville, Illinois; her siblings, Carol Steffen (Ernie) of St. Cloud and Ronald McAuly (Lorraine) of Florida; her stepchildren, Paul Smet (Cathy) of Deerbrook, John Smet (Jean) of Fond du Lac, Mark Smet of Fond du Lac, Daniel Smet (Julie) of Fond du Lac and Lisa Collien (Rick) of Fond du Lac; and her close friend Daniel Ireland of Fond du Lac. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home (524 N Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935).
