Daniel will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Gurath and Gertrude Gurath (Chappy); and his wife Shirley Hackbart. He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Detert (Michael), Alison Gneiser (Gary), Kathy Wolf (Don Zabolski) and Jean Mackie (Steven Weinglass); his grandchildren, Colin Reinehr, Ryann Woodfill and Morgan Sorrill (Nate); and his brothers, Guy Gurath and Mike Gurath (Maryann).
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home (524 N Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935). A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
