He was predeceased by: his parents, Toivo J. Nevala and Anita C. A. Baehr Nevala; his wife Audrey J. Thone; his siblings-in-law, Shirley Thone and Eugene Kaufman; his nephew John Kaufman; his goddaughter Dr. Heidi Pellett; and his pet Brady.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Damgaard (Tim) of Apple Valley, MN; his brother Merlin Nevala (Patricia) of Menominee, WI; his sister-in-law Marge Kaufman of Fond du Lac; and his godson William Zuengler. He is also survived by one niece, three nephews.
