He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ries and Hilaria Ries (Bonlender); his wife Priscilla Sabel; his brothers, Ray and Harold Ries; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia Ries, Darlene Sabel, Gerald Kovensky and Othmar Sabel.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Donahue (Glen) of Fond and James Ries (Shirley) of Fox Crossinng; his grandsons, Tyler Donahue (Aubriana) of Fond and Tim Donahue of Fond; his great grandchildren, Maddison Donahue and MacKenzie Donahue of Fond; his sister Alice Kovensky of Chilton; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Ries of Peshtigo and Angeline Briester (Robert) of Fond. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
