He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Koenecke Sr. and Della Koenecke (Koenig); his brother Merlin Koenecke; and his sisters-in-law, Bertha Jane Koenecke and Marlene Koenecke.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Peper; his daughters, Marcia Signorile (Frank) and Kristy Miller (Doug); his grandchildren, Amanda Hill (Jeff), James Brandt (Shannon), Emily Miller and Anna Miller; his siblings, Martin Koenecke Jr. and Anne Beth (Ewald "Errol"); and his brother-in-law LaVern Peper (Verdie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rock Springs Memorial Pavilion.
