He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Spaude and Helen Spaude (Bade); his sister Lillian; his brother-in-law Merle Werner; and his sisters, Virginia and Marie Sazy.

He is survived by: his wife Lily Ryser; his children, Catherine Mowers (Brian), Pastor Philip Spaude (Susan), Karen (Pastor Joel Thomford), Sharon (Pastor Philip Pitt) and Rebecca Wilsmann (James); and his siblings-in-law, John Sazy, Richard Neumann and Phyllis Neumann. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother.
