Joan Mary Shwed Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Mary Shwed (Fond du Lac, Wisconsin), who passed away on December 2, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Allan Ransom and Marie Ransom (Paulick); her husband Joe Shwed; and her siblings, Allan, James Ransom and Jeannie Hopp.
She is survived by: her daughters, Julie Lavey (Todd) and Jacki Crum (Henri Um); her grandchildren, Jacob Lavey (Laura), Kristin Jourdan (Eric), Nicole Lavey, Sydney Lavey (Kaine Mertens), Talia Crum (Thomas Steffel) and Olivia Crum; her great grandchildren, Lucas, Liam Lavey, Tripp and Blaire Jourdan; her siblings, John Ransom (Evie) and Loni Behnke; and her sister-in-law Marjean Ransom. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Holy Family Church (271 Fourth St Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54935). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Joseph and Joan Shwed, as this was an organization close to her heart.
