He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Gessner and Edna Heinecke Gessner; and his wife Patricia L. Dossett. He is survived by: his children, Ann Vargas (Brad) of Cumming, Georgia and James Gessner (Michelle) of Tigard, Oregon.; his grandsons, Kyle Vargas (Sarah) and Jacob Vargas; and his sister Barbara Gessner of Madison.
